Lowe Alpine Mountain Marathon pack

For those of you looking for something light in the backpack department, here it is - The Lowe Alpine Mountain Marathon 32 litre.

Designed for mountain marathons and adventure races, it is extremely light yet very stable due to the teardrop shape keeping most of the load in your lower back. There is also a large front pocket which is ideal as a rapid fill option for hydration systems (it's also compatible for hydration systems inside the bag as you would expect) or you can just stuff it with energy bars, waterproof shells - basically whatever you like that you want quick and easy access to.

This thing is loaded with pockets too - Massive mesh side pockets, a zippered mesh top lid pocket, Hip belt pockets and harness bottle pockets (see below right).

It's also tough enough to cope with being used as a hillwalking daypack if that's what you're after.

We really do appreciate it, even if that's not always apparent when we are still waking up at about 11.30 (we really are missing Cafe Idaho's magnificent €2 takeaway coffees/rocket fuel - how long are they on holiday for!).

And keep giving us the feedback - products you would like to see, funny outfits you would like to see the staff wearing etc as it's you that buy the stuff and you that know what you want - We will always try our best to get stuff for you and if we can't, we will die trying (well, get fairly exhausted at least).

September is Cork walking month

With walking being one of the most enjoyable ways to get fit while enjoying yourself, here is a great opportunity to either try it out (or try some places you've never been if you are a regular).

September see's the start of "Cork walking month", with a huge variety of walks taking place all over our fair county - From Sheeps Head in the West to the beautiful Glenbower woods in the East (Killeagh to be exact), there is something for everyone. There are 40 organised walks, giving you the choice of different distances and elevations for all levels/preferences. So don't be put off if you are not a member of a club or don't go out regularly as this festival is as much for you as it is for those regular walkers.

The walks start this Wednesday, 1st September and run until the 29th September - More information regarding routes, start times, necessary equipment for individual walks etc can be found by either visiting http://www.corksports.ie/, calling 021 466 5081 or popping in to see us at Mahers and picking up a leaflet with all of the details enclosed - The brochure also has a Mahers 10% discount voucher attached to it!.
