Vango Icarus 500 + friends
Yo - some wicked new tents came in from Vango - they are cool and so am i cos i just bought the one above - It's a lot bigger than it looks in the picture above (obviously, otherwise you would have to be the size of a wasp to enjoy it) and there are only two of us sleeping in it - just imagine all that space to lie around in drinking beer and rolling around on the hallway carpet (not like that you dirty minded monkeys). Yes there is a carpet available too(bought separately) and it's solid (that means really good). It's plenty waterproof, fire retardant and only €260 so you have to buy one unless you are daft.
The new Banshee 200 (a very nice red colour - see pic below) and 300 (classic dark green) coming in at €130 and €150 - This tent is serious value for money as it is very lightweight and has a new 5000mm flysheet and 6000mm groundsheet (even better than last years spec which was more than good enough for our climate).
We also now have some smaller tents in such as the Beta 250, 350 and 450 (2, 3 and 4 person respectively and €100, €130 and €150). These are good solid tunnel tents with decent storage space and very waterproof grounsheets.

So that's that really, come on down and check, check, check it out as the beastie boys once said.

MSR Kitchen Cupboard
So you're going on a bit of an adventure that might be from just spending a night or two in a camp site to the extreme of planning an ascent of Shishapangma (the 14th highest mountain in the world). When it comes to it space is everything, and boy do i know it!!!!.
Its very important also to have good food hygiene. We at Mahers Outdoor have a thing for both of these major problems. The MSR Alpine Kitchen Cupboard is perfect for everything to do with outdoor cook (like me). This box of camp essentials combines MSR's Alpine Folding Spoon, Spatula, and Strainer with several plastic containers for dry food storage. The entire set packs into an organizer bowl with lid, and can be stored inside most MSR Cookware. This is so good that i would nearly use this for my own kitchen at home. It was 35 euro but now

Lowe Alpine Matrix bags now only €30!
We now have big reductions on the lowe Alpine "Matrix" rucksacks - They are down from €50 to just €30!!
The packs are 24 litre and are the right shape/have enough room for college folders, school books, dead animals you have just run over on your bike and want to hide/eat etc, etc.
There is a top pocket for an ipod or some other form of personal music system (do walkmans still exist?, i'm not exactly "down with the kids" these days), a padded front compartment which would probably hold an ipad or small notebook and even has pen holders and small pockets to keep your bits and bobs in.
The bag can even be used for day hikes as it is hydration pack compatible, has hip straps and an airflow system on the back to stop your back getting too sweaty.
Oh yeah and there are 6 different designs to choose from - See a couple of these in the pics on the right (can't find images of them all) for your delectation.
Anyway, they're a bargain so come on down and get one now.
